Tractor Bastard
Review by E. E. Chandler
Haworth Hodgkinson sees the world a little bit differently from the rest of us.
This collection, Tractor Bastard, gives us a little bit of insight into his
view of it. Surreal (see Retributional), unsettling (read the title poem
and Sleepsong) and moving (try Fidelity Test and Swifts), this
is landscape poetry with a twist. Haworth listens to the lighthouses, the seals
and the cows, and the local and the cosmic intertwine. The fog seems somehow less
impenetrable (A Dozen Words for Fog).
