Candles and Pizzas
Haworth Hodgkinson
The original idea for Candles and Pizzas came in a tent in the centre of
Huddersfield, though it was written as a monologue for a writers' party in Aberdeen,
and the setting is a loosely disguised Dundee.
The writer recast it as a play for one actor and one musician. In this format, it
was performed for the first time by Pauline de Koning and Haworth Hodgkinson at
Woodend Barn, Banchory, in May 2008. This performance formed part of a Wordfringe Festival Players production for Wordfringe 2008.
Candles and Pizzas was also published as a short story in the Lemon Tree Writers collection Point of Balance (2013).
