Writing on the Green
Creative Writing Workshops with Haworth Hodgkinson
Tuesday afternoons, 2.15pm–4.15pm
10 September – 26 November 2013
Cost: £123 for a 10-week block
Regular art classes, organised by Tolquhon Gallery, are held at the Tolquhon Studio
(Art on the Green) in Udny Green, a picturesque conservation village, 12 miles north
of Aberdeen. The former Fleeman's Shop on the village green has been transformed
into an attractive, well equipped studio. The Tolquhon workshops include creative
writing workshops, suitable for both new writers and those with some experience,
led by highly experienced tutor Haworth Hodgkinson.
Have you always wanted to write but not known where to begin? Perhaps you have been
writing poetry or fiction in secret, but never allowed your work out in public.
Maybe you are an experienced writer in need of feedback and the impetus to write.
Haworth's informal and friendly workshops will allow you to explore many aspects
of the creative process, including inspiration, performance and publication, and,
most importantly, they will get you writing!
Haworth is a poet and playwright, composer and improvising musician. Aside from
writing and leading workshops, his work often involves collaboration with other
writers, musicians and dancers, as well as solo performances combining poetry and
music. He performs as poet and musician with the multimedia Blue Salt Collective,
and is the founding director of North-East Scotland's New Words festival of new
writing in performance.
